Bio/Description

Dahlia is a strategic communications professional and ecosystem builder who is dedicated to building the capacity of early-stage startups with an emphasis on supporting founders of color. 

For years, Dahlia has helped early-stage entrepreneurs become investment ready through trainings and creating resources to support building sustainable ecosystems. Dahlia helps founders connect with key investors, customers and partners that can build capacity long-term and ensure startups have a roadmap to success. As a member of the Village Capital team, Dahlia does critical work to ensure that entrepreneurs of color have access to funding and support that they need to build their capacity. Dahlia is currently leading an accelerator program to support Black, Indigenous, People of color led organizations that support entrepreneurs of color. 

Dahlia obtained her bachelor’s degree in Communications from Mount St Mary’s University in 2014. She then obtained her master’s degree in Strategic Communications from American University in 2016 where she focused on strategic planning, compelling messaging and branding to capture the attention of key audiences. Before Village Capital, Dahlia worked for Respect Ability as a Communications Fellow to make sure that disability rights were front and center during the 2016 presidential election.
