Micah studied chemistry and biology as an undergraduate student at Colorado Mesa University and pursued both by studying biochemistry in graduate school. At the University of Arizona, Micah discovered that metals are incredibly interesting in much of biochemistry.

Toyocamycin nitrile hydratases is one of these metalloenzymes that piqued Micah's interest. Micah have worked on trying to discover their mechanism of hydration, and this JBC paper showing a protein-based oxygen nucleophile has been one of the most exciting results to him. 

Micah won the first place at Princeton Reunions 2021 Startup Pitch Competition. He is currently developing Sòliome, a biodegradable sunscreen.
